Two performances of the same programme: 4.30pm & 7pm
Intesa is a viola da gamba duo that specialises in mixed programmes of Italian renaissance and baroque music, interspersed with art songs and folk singing. This programme is inspired by San Lazzaro degli Armeni, a small island in the Venetian lagoon with an Armenian Catholic monastery built in the early 18th Century. Transitioning between pieces from distant origins (dance music, songs about love, and tales of migration), Intesa creates connections through common emotion, narrative, and sound in a programme that starts in early morning and ends in the dead of night.

She studied music at Yale University, then in Basel, where she was taught viol by Paolo Pandolfo and voice by Rosa Dominguez, then in London with Jonathan Manson at the Royal Academy of Music where she met Nathan Giorgetti. Nathan spent most of his life as a modern cellist, living in Bremen, then Madrid, before eventually returning to the U.K. He first encountered the viol through Hille Perl's teaching while in Bremen, but it was only during the lockdown of March 2020 that Nathan played one for the first time.
